Caregiver Agreements set out terms for caring for another in exchange for compensation.
This is a binding legal agreement between two people setting out the terms and conditions on how one person will care for another. These types of agreements are also sometimes known as elder care contracts or family caregiver contract. Typically the caregiver agreement will be for one family member to provide caregiver services for a disabled or aging relative that needs assistance with activities of daily living (“ADLs”).
Caregiver agreements can clarify duties and reduce family conflict regarding who or how care is given. These agreements may be used to assist with elder law planning.
